Hunny Bunny Bear's Recent Mischief
The Butterfly & Dragonfly Background used on this page is actually a picture taken of "Chloe's Butterfly Paradise Room" at home.  We tried to think of how to create a room that would be visually stimulating for her so we hung lots of different coloured butterflies and dragonflys on the walls and ceiling.   We wanted to create a paradise for our sweet little girl where dreams could take flight and imaginations soar.  The purple paint was a perfect choice considering how wonderfully the rainbows show up on it when the sun hits the teardrop prism we have hanging in the window.  We get hundreds of dancing rainbows every afternoon (if you look closely you may just catch a glimpse of a couple of the dancing rainbows - enjoy!).

End of Summer Update 2002
Well, what's been going on in your life my sweet Hunny Bear??  You are getting to be such a big girl, you weigh 22 lbs and are 33" long - WOW!!!  You must take after your Daddy's side.  You are definitely not a baby anymore my love, you are becoming a little girl.  My sweet baby girl, we love you more and more with each day.  I know you don't think it is possible, but I know for certain that my heart just keeps expanding as your love just keeps filling and filling it.  I am going to keep letting you fill it as far as it will go - hee hee :)

Chloe, my love, we have had the most amazing summer, first there was our Girls Getaway Weekend in Sechelt, BC with mommy's fabulous friends, then we had a heavenly stay at Canuck Place Children's Hospice, then to Buffalo, NY for the Hunter's Hope Symposium to meet the inspirational families of the most special of all children, and then back home to be cuddled close with mommy & daddy.  It has done all of our HEARTS a world of good.  We've soothed our souls and surrounded ourselves by so much LOVE.

You have been doing very well this summer, I think the warm days and the glorious sun's rays have done wonders in putting the glow back into your beautiful face.  You had a very tough winter so it does all of our hearts good to see you relaxed, content and with that gorgeous pink hue in your cheeks.  You are so beautiful my precious girl.  I can never get enough of your gorgeous face, your mesmerizing eyes, your perfect lips and your quivering chin with the 2 adorable little dimples in it.  So cute!!

Lounging in the Summer Heat (Summer 2002)

On our last stay at Canuck Place I was in the elevator with you my sweetie pie and a construction worker was on the elevator with us.  I was talking away to you as I usually do and the worker said to me, "you can communicate with her?" and I said "what do you mean?", he said "well, most of the kids around here are staring off into space so it doesn't look like they're even here."  Ohhhhhhh my darling girl I can't believe your innocent little ears had to hear such a thing.  I was heartbroken and astounded at the ignorance of some people.  I realize that it is not his fault, he obviously hasn't been touched by a miracle such as you, my amazing and beautiful girl.  I told him "of course I can communicate with her, although her physical body doesn't show it there is an AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL little person inside of her, with her own thoughts, feelings, character and the most endearing little personality."  I feel so very sad for those people who haven't opened themselves up to the miracle of Chloe and all of our precious children.  These beautiful little souls have experienced and felt a life and a love on a level we will never truly appreciate.  They have fully lived and fully loved and I feel blessed to have been even a small part of it and for those who haven't been so blessed, I am sorry for you.

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away."

Since attending the Hunter's Hope Symposium in July we have so many new and wonderful friends.  It has been so great to have the love & support of people who really understand the emotional roller-coaster we are on.  These families have seen and felt the overwhelming love, joy and heartache that we experience on a daily, or sometimes minute by minute, basis.  We have such a strong bond to each other, I have even had the wonderful experience of talking with many of the moms by phone - wow!  It is so great to know that they are always there to lend an ear and to share a tear and to know that all of the emotional ups and downs are "normal" and that although I may think I am, I am not CRAZY.

We also had the amazing chance to have a family stay with us a couple of weekends ago, Sandy & Bill Windley from Seattle, WA, who lost their precious son, Logan a few months ago. Logan is now a beautiful angel in Heaven, watching over us all and scattering his love everywhere he goes. We had a very special and emotional visit.  Sandy gave you, my sweet Chloe, a bath, a soothing massage and then a loving cuddle,  thanks Sandy!!!  We had a lot of fun and we hope to see them again very soon.

And not to diminish the love & support we receive from our family and friends, WE NEED YOU ALL!  Each individual in our lives offers us something unique and something very special that we need and want. Everyone brings us a little of their own sunshine.

Thank you and bless you all!!!
Chloe is very happy that her mommy & daddy are surrounded by so much love.
It does her heart good.  It does all of our hearts good.

"If I could reach up and hold a star for every time you've made me smile,
the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand."

So, Chloe, my love, we just recently discovered something so magical that just illuminates your beautiful face. Prisms.  Amazing, magical prisms.  Something so seemingly small, so inexpensive has turned into something that has become your greatest gift.  We hung a small teardrop prism in each of our westside windows that receive the late afternoon sun.  As the sun's brilliant rays shine onto the prisms, a magical array of rainbows dance around the room, hundreds of them.  Each colourful rainbow dances joyfully from wall to wall, ceiling to floor, it is SPECTACULAR!!!  We have never seen your face light up as much as it does as you follow the rainbows around the room. Although your eyes are usually very sensitive to light, when the rainbows dance, so do your eyes and you open those beautiful green eyes so BIG to take in every delightful colour splash.  It is truly magical.  I wish that I could capture every precious moment.  I will keep it in my heart always.

Beautiful Big Eyes watching Rainbows (Aug 30/02)

Ahhhh how glorious - my sweet baby girl breathing in rhythm to the dancing rainbows.  I take a big, calming breath and savour this delicious moment.  Every late afternoon at about 5:30 we run to the window, close the curtains so they are open just enough to let the prism show, then as the light refracts through the crack into the prism, the magic begins.......if you were sleeping my love, you are soon awake because you can feel the rainbows as they tickle your beautiful face.

Prisms....
wonderful....
delicate.....crystal.....
delightful.....cheery....magical....heavenly....
illuminations of life and love

PRISMS....CHLOE'S FAVOURITE GIFT....I HOPE THAT YOU ONE DAY EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF A PRISM....MAY EACH OF YOU ALWAYS HOLD A RAINBOW IN YOUR HEART.

Shedding a Tear for our Dear Friend
A dear sweet soul has flown to Heaven this past month, Brittany Louann Walters (Oct 6/01 - Aug 20/02). "All the way to Heaven is Heaven."  We feel so very blessed for having met precious little Brittany "Turtle" at the Hunter's Hope Symposium, and kissed her darling cheek.  She has such a loving family, Dennis, Daniela, and sweet Big Sister Taylor, we so enjoyed being a part of their very special family and witnessing the precious miracle of Brittany.  It is a loving moment that we will cherish always.  We now have another beautiful Angel watching over us and bringing smiles to our faces when we're feeling a little sad.

Bless you darling Brittany, we love you and all of the Heavenly Angels.
