Lovely friends and family,
Just wanted to share with you all a little note of love and thanks
for keeping our beautiful Chloe close to your thoughts and hearts.
Our time spent with our darling girl is so very precious and we continue
to live and love each moment to the fullest.
Chloe, sweet gentle soul that she is, is nothing less than a miracle.
Her endearing little personality just keeps blooming and flourishing.
With each passing moment, another precious petal of our perfect little flower
gently curls out to face the sunshine of our love.
Although the disease within her is quickly working its way through
her lovely little body, it has never diminished her gentle, whimsical and
loving spirit. She is so incredibly strong and brave. How could
we be anything but strong and brave in her presence?
We would be lying if we said that Chloe was doing well, for our faces
and our hearts speak a different story. Each day she struggles a
little bit more for air. Sometimes I wonder if maybe I am to blame
for Chloe's lack of oxygen. Her mommy is just snuggled much too close
to her darling girl all the time (sorry my love).
But what eases our hearts is that although there are so many changes
going on within her physical body, her lovely spirit is stronger than ever.
She is so peaceful and doesn't appear to be in any discomfort. As a
matter of fact, Chloe has been so wonderfully interactive and so much
fun this past little while. Which does our hearts so much good.
We are once again able to hold her and cuddle her without causing
her pain the way it used to. She absolutely loves her daily massage,
therapy and exercise regime that her mommy shares with her twice a day
:) Her range of motion and positioning tolerance is incredible
considering how difficult it was to even touch or move her delicate body
mere months ago.
Her lovely eyes and facial expressions continue to tell us everything
that we need to know. During her therapy sessions her eyes become
so wide and she lets out such lovely sighs. She tells us how good
it feels and then she giggles with relief and delight. She still loves
story time. She listens so intently, she doesn't want to miss one
delicious word. She knows the stories by heart but she'll never tell
her mommy and daddy that she is bored. The truth is she loves the
connection to the characters of the stories (especially those zany Dr. Seuss
characters). But more than anything, it isn't so much the meaning of
the words that she enjoys but it is the melodic inclinations in her mommy's
and daddy's voices that calms her mind and her soul. Mommy's voice
is soft and gentle, Daddy's is fun and whimsical. The perfect mix
for an adventure...
And then there is Gromit, our crazy kitty. Nothing makes Chloe
laugh harder than Gromit. Every morning when our near starving kitty
(you would think he was starving by the shrill shriek he lets out right
into your sleeping ear), comes to give us our breakfast wake-up call.
He jumps onto the bed and comes in between Chloe and my ears and lets out
his shriek and Chloe opens her eyes, lifts her chin and lets out one of
her lyrical sighs. We know she is laughing and it is so wonderful.
Then she looks at Gromit, then looks at me and we both roll our eyes.
I'm sure that Chloe is thinking 'boy, what a spoiled brat Gromie is!'.
Chloe is so very polite, and so very gentle and caring. She would never
stoop to Gromit's level.
Through all that Chloe has to face each day she never complains.
She is truly amazing. She teaches us more about strength and beauty
than we ever knew existed. It seems that Gromit still has some lessons
to be learned from Chloe. Good luck my darling girl, Gromit is a
tough sell :)
Well, I've been away from my little snugglebug longer than I anticipated
or wished to, so I will leave you with a lovely thought that came to me
last night just before Chloe and I drifted off to sleep...
Another day closes, the petals of our flower gently fold in anticipation
of tomorrow's moment to bloom.
With much love,
Lisa, Frank and of course the most beautiful and gentle of souls,
Chloe
